As a part of our "Get Caught Reading" initiative we will be
sponsoring a "Get Caught Reading" Photo Contest. Rules are as stated below:
- Amateur photographers only.
- Youth Division: ages 8-17; Adult Division: age 18 and over
- One submission per photographer.
- Contest dates May 3- May 31. No early submissions accepted. Last day to
submit entry is Saturday May 31, 2008 by 5pm.
- Winners will be contacted Friday June 6 before 5pm.
- Best of Show will receive a $50 gift certificate. Winners from each
division will receive awards and ribbons.
- Theme of photographs should be reading. Photographs can be taken of
someone reading or something reading (such as stuffed animal, dog, cat etc.)
Photographs must be taken by the photographer submitting the photo.
- To submit photo electronically, you will need to email your digital
photograph to
outreach@vci.net.
Type "Get Caught Contest" in subject line. Include in the email the name,
age and phone number of the photographer. You will also need to give the
name and phone number of each individual in the picture. All electronic
submissions become the property of the library. Incorrectly submitted
photographs will not be judged.
- To submit printed photo to the library, you will need to include on the
back of your mounted 8"x10" picture the entry form. The entry form will need
to include name, age and phone number of photographer as well as the name
and phone number of each individual in the picture. Incorrectly submitted
photographs will not be judged. No framed pictures please.
- Photographs will be judged on creativity, composition and quality.
